Burning

The grass surely doesn’t see the beauty in the burning; if it could feel it would only feel excruciating pain. But as an onlooker we marvel at the purpose and the promise in the process. We know that when the dead grass has been burned away the new grass will grow, ushering in Spring and life and health.

“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Hebrews 12:2)
